What if you could get your group to break out of their usual cliques and network with others? What if you could give your participants a fun way to get to know one another better? If you host the What If? Networking Activity, there’s no ifs about it – that’s exactly what will happen! And, the activity works well whether your group doesn’t know each other at all, or if your team has been working together for years.
Upon arrival to the venue, each participant receives a lanyard with an “if statement” on one side. For example, “If I could have a super power it would be…” The other side of the badge contains activity instructions and places to fill in the participant’s name and the names of five other participants.
Throughout the activity, the emcee encourages participants to interact with other participants and share their answers to the various “if statements” they come across. Once a participant has collected five names they turn in their badge which is then entered into a prize drawing.
At a set time, the emcee will draw a winning badge. The winner must come to the stage to verify their entry by calling up the five people listed on his or her card. The emcee asks the winner to share what he or she learned about each person. If they remember how each person who signed their card responded to their “if statement” correctly, they win the main prize. But, there’s also a small prize for the five “supporting” participants with as well.
