Six Degrees of Separation Mixer

Event Description

The "six degrees of separation" concept, builds on the theory that any two people on earth are six or fewer acquaintances apart. In this movie-themed mixer, guests get a nametag lanyard with a movie star's name on it. Of course, Kevin Bacon will be one of the names!

Upon arrival to the venue, each participant receives a lanyard with a movie star's name printed on one side. The other side of the badge contains activity instructions outlining that guests should mingle with others to determine how their celebrities are related. When they've found a connection, they present themselves to one of our Box Office Attendants around the room to receive an "Admit One" movie ticket.

The more people connected in the chain, the more tickets each person receives! For instance, if a guest wearing a "Brad Pitt" nametag lanyard pairs up with just one person, such as someone wearing a "George Clooney" nametag because they were both in the Oceans 11 movie, they'd each get one "admit one" ticket. "Brad Pitt" could then go on to meet with "Angelina Jolie," and "Jennifer Aniston" because they are all connected by marriage/divorce and these three people would each get two raffle tickets.

At a set time, the emcee can do one of two things. Six tickets can be drawn at random and the six people holding the winning tickets win a prize. Or, guests are asked to count the number of tickets they collected and the person with the most wins a prize. Either way, this star-studded event will have box office appeal to your guests!
