No Table Unturned

Event Description

It’s no mystery – people love to guess “who dunnit!” And, it’s even more fun when the mystery is customized for your group. Did somebody steal the company’s top secrets? Kill the competition? Steal the lollipops from the receptionist’s desk? If you can imagine it, we’ll leave no table unturned as we script a mystery that will intrigue and delight your participants!

The event kicks off with Sheer Luck Holmes, bumbling brother of that other famous sleuth, introducing the premise of the event. Throughout dinner, a series of clues are revealed. Alone, these solutions are meaningless. However, diners are asked to hold onto the clue solutions because ultimately they are used to reveal the guilty party, which is shockingly, someone on your team! Some of the unique ways clues appear include:

  • On each table, teams find a container of straws along with a mysterious strip of paper with random letters on it. Sheer Luck Holmes gives teams hints on how to “wrap up” the solution to this clue. It turns out when the strip of paper is wrapped around the straw; the random letters line up perfectly to reveal a solution.
  • Between courses Sheer Luck Holmes delivers a clue in a secret code. After hints reveal that teams must look under their table for the “key” to solving this clue, teams find three envelopes containing letters and symbols. Used together, these “keys” provide enough information for teams to decipher the code.
  • Teams receive cards with 3 letters on each one. The emcee says, “Mixed up? Me too! But, I’m sure you can put together a solution!” When teams put the cards together in the correct order a solution is revealed.
  • As tables await their dessert, they must uncover the names of candy bars hinted at on a clue sheet. What candy bar is suggested by “Spells” (Charms) or “Geeks” (Nerds)? These names must be discovered in order to reveal a secret word from letters that are highlighted in the name of each candy.
  • M&Ms with different letters on them are served up with coffee. Teams might get mixed up solving this one but that is exactly what they need to do!

At the end of the meal, a final clue is revealed. Diners use all of the solutions they have gathered during dinner to solve the final clue. The first team to solve it – and this is done in a very dramatic way – reveals the guilty party. Sheer Luck Holmes honors this team with award medals and explains the motive for the fiend’s crime, leaving the group with a tasty and satisfying conclusion to dinner and the mystery!
