Mini Golf Fore Good

Event Description

This teambuilding event is anything but par for the course. Teams have a great time as they strategize, put their creativity to work, test their golf game AND do something great for a local charity along the way.

A variety of boxed and canned food items and a piece of green indoor/outdoor carpet are set out for each team. It’s up to them to turn those items into an amazing golf hole!

Teams are given the rules of golf course construction and are encouraged to be creative in their design, as there will be a prize for the most creative hole. Each hole must have at least one obstacle. Will teams create a red and white windmill from cans of Campbell’s soup? Will they make a castle out of canned chili or boxes of macaroni and cheese? Teams should practice putting at their own hole to “warm up” for when they play the course at the end of the event.

In addition to the food items and “green,” each team also receives paper and writing utensils to sketch out their design, one golf club and ball, and one putting cup. Teams also receive coins they can use to “purchase” supplies from the supply depot. Here, teams have access to large sheets of cardboard, duct tape, construction paper, foam shapes, ribbon, chenille stems, aluminum foil, etc. As teams collaborate on and build their golf holes, music plays in the background.

At a set time all holes must be complete and ready for play. Each team is given a scorecard and rotates through 9-holes accumulating points as they go. Each team leaves one “pro” at their site to manage their hole and to keep scorekeepers honest.

During play, teams should also take note of their favorite designs as they will be asked to vote for the most creative hole. A representative from the non-profit will be at the event will then give a heartfelt thank you to your organization.

The winners for the most creative hole and for the best golf score are invited to the stage where they receive award medals for their efforts.
